* Briefing *

A soft knocking woke me from an uneasy sleep. Opening my apartment door with the caution that only a flashbomb up my sleeve and a sharpened sword can bring, I was just in time to see the edge of a darker shadow receding from view. On the doormat was a letter, and a hefty sack of coins. It seems the Keepers aren't above a little bribery when they need my skills. They're concerned about some old necromancer called Knoss whose return was foretold in one of their damn prophecies. They want me to break into his tomb and steal his Grimoire, the source of his power, before he returns to full strength. It might just be the Keepers overreacting as usual, but since my... encounter with Constantine, I'm a little less willing to immediately dismiss such stories as superstitious claptrap. Besides, the sack of gold was reassuringly heavy, and the note mentioned another one just like it upon completion...

- My entry for the Thief: The Dark Project 20th Anniversary Contest.
- This is a two mission pack. Equipment will carry over from one mission to the next.
- This mission is designed to evoke the style and atmosphere of Thief 1, and therefore uses entirely stock resources, and is best experienced without any custom texture packs or enhancement packs installed. The only custom content is the maps and Thief 2's stars from the Contest Resource Pack.
- Installs and runs through FMSel. Other loaders have not been tested and are used at your own risk.
- Requires New Dark version 1.26 or higher.
- Requires new mantle to be turned ON. You will almost certainly get stuck otherwise.

* Resume *

Un doux cognement me reveilla d?un sommeil perturbe. Ouvrant la porte de mon appartement, avec un soin que seulement une bombe eblouissante dans ma manche et une epee tranchante peuvent assurer, je vis juste a temps le coin d?une ombre obscure fuyant de vue. Sur le paillasson se trouvait une lettre et un riche sac de pieces en argent. Ils semble que les Gardiens ne dedaignent pas d?offrire des pots de vin quand ils requierent mes talents.
Ils sont preoccupes par un ancien necromancien appele Knoss, dont le retour fut presage dans une de leurs maudites propheties. Ils veulent que je penetre dans son tombeau pour voler son Grimoire, la source de son pouvoir, avant qu?il regagne ses forces au complet. C?est peut etre les Gardiens qui s?emballent comma d?habitude, mais depuis ma....rencontre avec Constantine, je suis moins enclin a ecarter ces histoires comme des superstitions. De plus, le sac d?or fut assez pesant pour me rassurer, et la note fit mention d?un autre identique qui sera offert apres l?achevement de la mission...

- Cette mission evoque le style et atmosphere de Thief 1, donc n?utilise que des ressources originelles, et est preferablement jouee sans des textures customisees. Le seul contenu customise sont les cartes et les etoiles Thief 2 de paquet de ressources du concours.

* Einleitung *

Ein leises Klopfen weckte mich aus einem unruhigen Schlaf. Mit einer Vorsicht, wie sie nur eine Blitzbombe in meinem Armel und ein frisch gescharftes Schwert in meiner Hand garantieren konnen, offnete ich die Tur meiner Unterkunft und konnte gerade noch einen vagen Schatten zuruck in die Dunkelheit der Nacht verschwinden sehen. Auf der Fu?matte lag ein Brief, und ein uppig gefullter Geldbeutel. Die Huter sind sich wohl doch nicht zu fein fur einen Bestechungsversuch, wenn sie meine Dienste benotigen.
Ein Totenbeschworer aus uralten Zeiten namens Knoss scheint ihnen Kopfzerbrechen zu bereiten, zumal seine Ruckkehr in einer ihrer vermaledeiten Prophezeiungen vorhergesagt wurde. Ich soll fur sie in sein Grabmal eindringen und sein Zauberbuch entwenden - welches die Quelle seiner Macht darstellt - und zwar bevor er seine volle Macht wiedererlangt.
Gut moglich, dass die Huter wie schon so oft einfach nur uberreagieren, aber seit meiner ... Begegnung ... mit Constantin fallt es mir schwer derartige Geschichten von vorneherein als aberglaubisches Geschwatz abzutun. Au?erdem war der Sackel mit Gold uberzeugend schwer, und die Botschaft stellte noch einen weiteren der gleichen Art bei Vollendung dieses Auftrags in Aussicht...

- Dies ist mein Beitrag zum "Thief: The Dark Project 20th Anniversary Contest", dem Wettbewerb anla?lich des 20. Jubilaums des Spiels "Dark Project: Der Meisterdieb".
- Dies ist eine Doppelmission. Ausrustung und Beute werden von der ersten Mission in die zweite ubernommen.
- Diese Mission ist ganz im Stil von Thief 1 gehalten um dessen Atmosphare einzufangen, und beschrankt sich daher auf die Verwendung der originalen Ressourcen. Deshalb sollte auch auf den Einsatz jeglicher Textur- und Enhancement-Packs verzichtet werden. Die einzigen zusatzlichen Ressourcen sind die Karten sowie der Sternenhimmel von Thief 2 aus dem fur diesen Wettbewerb zur Verfugung gestellten Ressourcen-Paket.
- Installation und Start der Mission uber FMSel. Andere Ladeprogramme wurden nicht getestet und sind daher nicht unterstutzt.
- Benotigt New Dark in Version 1.26 oder hoher.
- 'New mantle' muss AKTIVIERT sein. Ansonsten wirst du mit gro?er Sicherheit irgendwo stecken bleiben.

Un leggero colpo mi sveglio' da un inquieto sonno. Aprendo la porta del mio appartamento con la cautela che solo una bomba abbagliante ed una spada affilata possono dare, feci in tempo a scorgere la sagoma di una scura ombra allontanarsi dalla vista. Sullo zerbino c'era una lettera, ed un pesante sacco di denaro. Sembra chi i Keepers non disdegnino un pizzico di corruzione quando hanno bisogno dei miei talenti. Sono preoccupati di un vecchio negromante chiamato Knoss il cui ritorno e' stato previsto in una delle loro dannate profezie. Vogliono che io entri nella sua tomba e che rubi il suo Grimorio, la fonte del suo potere,
prima che ritorni nel pieno delle forze . Potrebbe essere una delle solite esagerazioni dei Keepers, ma fin dal mio... incontro con Constantine, faccio un po' piu' fatica a considerare tali storie come stupide superstizioni. Inoltre, il sacco d'oro era piacevolmente pesante, e la nota parlava di uno uguale finito il lavoro...

- Questa missione e progettata per rievocare lo stile e le atmosfere di Thief 1, e quindi utilizza solamente materiale originale, e si potra apprezzare meglio senza installare alcun pacco di textures o pacco di miglioramento. L'unico contenuto aggiuntivo e le mappe e le stelle di Thief 2.
