Description : Basso's sister has come into some money, and
is planning to put it to good use by opening a cake shop. In order to
succeed, however, she'll need to compete with the famous Oswald, whose
patisserie has long been established as the city's best provider of
cakes, sweets and breads. Three generations of Oswalds have dominated
the city's quality cake market, so you thought you might give Basso's
sister a little help by stealing their secret recipe book.

Note on Recipes: These are all family recipes, mostly from my
grandmother's collection. 1 tspn is 1 teaspoon, and 1 tbspn is 1 tablespoon.
I reccomend holding your breath whilst boiling vinegar.
To test toffee, drop a small quantity into a jar of cold water.
It should form a small ball of toffee before hitting the
base of the jar. The harder the ball, the firmer your toffee
will set. The recipe for gingerbread men makes loads, you might
want to halve the quantities. Parkin is a substantial gingerbread
ideal for bonfire night or halloween, and best served in small slices.
