Bafford's Town House

================================================================================

Title: CTE Contest entry - Baffords Town House

Author: ANONYMOUS

Date of release: 9 - 15 - 2008

Mission this pays homage to and why
===================================

It's got to be Baffords really, it's the first mission I played and it sucked me in
completely to the point where I found other games boring "oh more shoot 'em up or driving
cars about .. great .. not". This introduced me to immersive sweaty palmed stealth, paying
close attention to the environment in the game and often paying the price for not looking
hard enough, it had outdoors, it had indoors it had underground, underwater, AI who were more
intelligent than most and best of all it had Garrett being cool, laid back and sardonic

So I give you Baffords Mark 2 - Baffords Town House is the official name I've chosen, yes it's a
mansion mission however due to the constraints of the contest doing a huge mansion is awkward,
so I compromised and did a small mansion/large town house and some outside bits to play in as well
Hopefully it's got the same kind of atmosphere.

I just hope I did it justice and that it's fun.

oh and as it's a contest mission I can't really respond to requests for help in the forum
as this would give my identity away so there's a "hints" folder in your thief folder containing an
HTML hints file and a lootlist that should answer most questions

Description
===========

I heard through the grapevine that my old friend Bafford had moved house, apparently there was
some embarrassment regarding a recent burglary at his old place and he wanted to be nearer to
the city watch as his own guards didn't seem to be enough ... or something like that heh.

The Watch had established a special high security area in town, completely walled in,
a "gated community" they called it you even paid a toll to enter and leave the area,

Unfortunately they cut off some of the services in their haste to build the place so they have
lights but no running water ... the price of security I guess

... and this was where bafford has moved to .. well I've faced worse.

Anyway I decided to pay my old friend a visit, as I'd also heard he had regained possession
of the jewelled sceptre I relieved him of last time .. another "old friend", how can I resist.
