A Thief 2 Fan Mission
By Ricebug
Release date: November 11, 2010
You must have DDFix installed to take advantage of the high-resolution textures in this mission. If you don’t have DDFix installed, the sky and moon will look odd. If, for some reason, you are having problems, there is an un-enhanced version in the Xtras folder. Simply drag it into your Thief 2 directory and overwrite the file.
Known Problems
Depending on how much horsepower your video card has, the hi-res textures may behave in weird ways. Blackouts (no texture at all) and other artifacts may appear. A fresh re-boot usually fixes the problem.
I found that after a certain point during mission creation, I could not add anymore hi-res textures—they would not display at all. Including the sky and moon, there are only 13 of these textures in the entire level; the rest are your standard Thief .pcx textures. Personally, I couldn’t see a real difference between the two.
You can actually enter the town (your final objective) if you don’t finish your objectives. However, the mission won’t end and you’ll get a nasty surprise.
When you walk across the reflective floor in the cathedral, you’ll hear Garrett make a jumping noise. This is a game engine bug. The model’s archetype is the catwalk, which does the same thing.
