INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Experienced players use Darkloader or FMSel. Runs on both V1.18 and "New Dark" v1.19, v1.20, v1.21.

Inexperienced players please refer to the included file Install.doc.

Comments:

* It is strongly recommended to use the NewDark patch, the current latest version is 1.21. (http://www.southquarter.com/downloads/2013/t2_v121.zip)
While not a requirement, it is highly recommended as the framerate can be high in some HighPoly areas.
* The Object Enhancement Pack by Nameless Voice is also recommended (http://www.thief-thecircle.com/download.asp?fid=1281)

* This is a campaign consisting of 6 missions
* Initially, you only have lockpicks, but at the beginning you can choose to equip yourself with gear.
* The acquired equipment remains throughout the campaign
* The gameplay style may not be compatible with every chosen equipment
* Higher difficulty levels have additional bonus objectives or puzzles, but the game is also enjoyable on Normal

Known Issues:

* On older PCs with their sound software, the framerate may suffer especially in the mission "Forgotten Depths"
* Sometimes water particles can "freeze and be picked up". They disappear and do not affect gameplay.
* In some areas, the fog mysteriously disappears. This is due to the DarkEngine.

GAME STORY:

I had just arrived home when I noticed a letter on my doormat. It was from my old flame Vivianne, whom I hadn't seen in years, since we parted ways for unpleasant reasons.

Dear Garrett,

Much time has passed since we last saw each other, yet I still think of you. I hope you haven't forgotten me, nor our shared nights. I write to you in great danger and pray that you overlook bad memories and help me.
Several months ago, I became engaged to Count Alexander Horrigan, the Fleet Commander. I believed in the fulfillment of all my dreams when I moved into Storm's Reach Fortress, but had I known what awaited me, I would never have agreed.
Alexander has gone mad. He is possessed, the reason being the long-lost treasure of Captain Storm's Reach, who once built the eponymous island fortress.
He has forgotten our engagement, his state fluctuates between paranoia, obsession, and depression, and I slowly fear for my life. If you still care for me, then please help me. I await you in Room 1 of the inn 'The Feisty Trout' next to the docks.
