The Ties That Bind
===================================================================
June 23, 2002, v1.2
===================================================================
Title : The Ties That Bind
Filename : tiesbind.zip
Author : Hit Deity (aka: Mike Garland) and my username is a play on words of the band Godsmack's name, not for "other" reasons as some have asked! >:o
Contact info : mwgarland@ala.net (NOTE: new email address!)
Version : 1.1 Minor update: Object names are now separated into an objnames.str file, instead of being part of the .mis file. Done so it could be translated into other languages more easily. v1.2 - fixed a bug that cropped up in v1.1 where all Objectives ticked off complete at one time after picking up certain pieces of loot in the game. Never did figure out where that came from! :(
===================================================================
Mission Briefing: Your new fiance Priscilla is very demanding. You don't know how you fell in love with her, but things just happen sometimes, and you're now living proof that just about anyone can fall in love. You're not sure about settling down, but at least for awhile you'll wait and see how this venture pans out. Get the stuff she has asked for and maybe you'll be on that road to eternal bliss you've always dreamed about.
===================================================================
Playing the mission:
Game : Thief 2: The Metal Age
Mission File : miss20.mis
Gamesys File : tiesb.gam (required)
Diff.Settings : No, only one.
Equipment store : No.
Map : Just the required one page to stop the game from crashing.
Automap : No.
New graphics : No.
New sounds : Sorta. I edited a lot of LGS's schema files. Made some louder, rearranged some sounds to fit my needs. And a few samples from other sources **see below** Sorry I didn't include the SCHEMA files, I lost them somehow in a Windows Re-Install.
EAX Support : Definitely. Not much variation, as 90% of the Rooms are set to 'Small normal'
Multi language : French version due out soon if I can get off my lazy behind and get to work.
Briefing : No
Known "Issues" : None known.
Playing : Load with Darkloader and don't unzip it.
====================================================================
Building Info:
Base : All from scratch, except for some sounds I borrowed from LGS & Iron Maiden.
Map Size : This is a mini-contest FM for Komag's 2nd Contest, size is 80x80x40.
Build Time : About 60 days. Dromed's Info_Window command shows 14 days, 15 hours at the time of writing this, with 430 Terrain, 695 Objects, 123 Rooms, etc..
Special thanks : to anyone who helped me at TTLG/forums or TUG.
====================================================================
Other Info:
As far as I know, there's no way to get stuck in this mission or be unable to finish the game. So, if you're "stuck", just look around and try to figure it out. The Keeper Library area is some of the funniest stuff to me, but I wrote it, so maybe I'm biased, but if you can't get in there, you're missing something obvious. Don't worry, lots of people got stuck on that part. Email me for a hint, or visit www.ttlg.com/forums and go to the Fan Missions or Editors' Guild Forums - someone there will know. This is another great site for help: http://dynamic3.gamespy.com/~thief/ultimatebb.cgi
