NewDark 1.25
**Author:** Soul Tear
**Link:** DarkFate.org, TTLG.com
**Release Date:** January 4, 2016
**LOD Edition:** May 18, 2017
**Version:** 1.7
**SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS**
Intel Core i5-4570 CPU 3.20 GHz, 8.00 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 660
There are many objects in the scenes.
On open spaces, there may be a noticeable drop in FPS.
**GAME REQUIREMENTS**
The new_mantle option in the cam_ext.cfg file must be enabled.
The sun_runtime_obj_shadows option must be disabled.
Additionally, disable the Enhancement Pack and other packs.
**RECOMMENDATIONS**
The mission was designed to be dark, it is recommended to play with a brightness level of 60% and in the dark.
However, since this is bad for your eyes, you decide how to do it.
**TECHNICAL ISSUES**
If loading takes a long time, it makes sense to cancel the task and restart the application.
When all video memory is used up, textures will start to turn white. At this point,
it is best not to save and risk getting stuck or crashing.
**TACTICS**
Bad Venture and Raven's Nest are complex maps, the gameplay principle may differ from most missions.
All items found in Bad Venture will be transferred to Raven's Nest.
There is no standard shop in the missions, so if you spend all your items in Bad Venture,
it will be more difficult to start in the next mission. However, later you will find a unique shop by Soul Tear and can buy almost everything except large-caliber catapults.
The most important items in both missions are rope arrows. Use them rationally and always pick them up whenever possible without harming your health.
Use water and moss arrows where necessary, otherwise you risk making life harder for yourself fighting guards who cannot be stunned.
To reach some objects, you need to lean forward (default Alt+W).
**SHOP**
In Raven's Nest, there is a shop where coins are used as currency. They automatically add to your inventory when you find certain types of loot: a purse or a large handful of coins.
I didn't want to use the usual loot system because it would display statistics incorrectly.
All items in the shop cost 1 coin, but you get different quantities. For example, you can buy 8 simple arrows for 1 coin, or 4 water arrows for 1 coin.
Most items in the shop are infinite except for one instance of invisibility potion - don't miss your chance!
There are many NoKO-boys on the level, so crystals of air from the shop will be very useful,
but buy only what you really need. The number of coins is limited and you'll have to constantly look for new loot.
**COIN BUG**
Don't use coins for unintended purposes, such as on doors! Otherwise, your coins will be destroyed: minus one for each attempt.
As we know, when a player gets stuck, they start using all items from their inventory randomly: maybe it'll work. But this "rule" should not apply to coins.
**TELEPORT GLITCH**
At a certain point in the game, you receive a Glyph "Enter Void", which disappears for 3 minutes and then reappears in your inventory.
**DIALOGUES**
You can talk to some characters like in Fables of the Penitent Thief and get quests. Some areas cannot be accessed until a corresponding quest is completed.
**DIFFICULTY**
The amount of equipment, enemies, and loot required for completion differs on each difficulty level.
In both missions, there are many un-stunnable guards, especially in the second part. Even though new air crystals will appear later,
it may be very challenging at first.
In Normal mode (Taffer), two essential objectives are missing, which greatly simplifies the game. However,
to encourage players to play the director's version (Garrett and Keeper), on Normal mode some interesting areas for exploration will be inaccessible,
so actual loot and secrets on this difficulty level will be reduced.
This also applies to the second mission. I significantly reduced the number of un-stunnable guards on Normal mode but disabled unique achievements due to requiring serious effort from players and contradicting this level of difficulty.
**ADDITIONAL DIFFICULTY**
Remember that when killing some NoKO guards with gas, other ones teleport onto the map and will peacefully patrol.
Otherwise, it would be too easy to eliminate all enemies and run around an empty city.
**GHOSTING**
The game can be completed without silencing and never seen aggressive guards or cameras while collecting 100% loot and finding all secrets.
